I plead contemporary insanity
Taxi vs Cab
or
Taxi vs Taxi
I had the privilege to visit Manhattan (New York) 3 years ago, and found myself amazed by a number of cultural and social differences to our little country in the sun (South Africa). The one thing that struck me on day one in the Big Apple was the enormous amount of Yellow Cabs (or should I say Taxi’s). Very few New Yorkers actually owns motor cars and the majority of them utilize the subway as supposed to the cap for simple cost reasons. In New York it is the spender that rides the cab (erm Taxi) and it is the commoner that don’t. In SA it is the commoner that commutes via Taxi.
Both pictures above come from my little camera. The Red SA Taxi inspired this post 2 days ago. The TOP one is a typical scene on Republic Road in Randburg (JHB SA) and the other a typical scene on Park Ave in Manhattan New York. LOL!!
